Designing Learning That Makes Complex Enterprise Software Click
Complex enterprise systems are only as effective as the people using them. I design learning around real workflows, exceptions, and downstream impact so people can perform when conditions aren’t ideal.
With 20 years owning the full creative output across eLearning, video, microlearning, scenario-based simulations, ILT, and performance support, I bring both the strategic depth to partner with leaders and the hands-on skills to build something worth using. Prosci-certified, with change management baked into the design approach.
Selected Work: Complex Systems & Performance Design
Executive Cybersecurity Sales Simulation – Performance-Based Experience
Internal enablement | Scenario-based simulation | Behavioral scoring architecture
Challenge: Sales teams at a fictional cybersecurity SaaS company understood their product well but broke down in real executive conversations. When stakeholders shifted priorities, raised unexpected objections, or pushed back on price, reps defaulted to feature pitching instead of diagnosing risk and anchoring to business impact. The gap wasn’t knowledge. It was judgment under pressure.
Approach: I designed a multi-stage executive sales simulation in Articulate Storyline that moves learners through discovery, positioning, objection handling, and high-pressure closing moments using AI-generated avatars and realistic scenario branching. Rather than teaching what to say, the simulation measures behavioral discipline in real time across four scoring dimensions: trust, risk insight, momentum, and value control. Every decision has a consequence that affects the learner’s standing in the simulation.
This is a two-stage learning architecture. The branching course above teaches the framework, the language, and the meter dynamics. Below, the Live Practice Arena puts the learner into open conversation where they apply what they learned under realistic pressure. Same Michael Reeves. Same four-meter scoring. No preset answer choices. The agent evaluates each response in real time and delivers a structured coaching debrief calibrated to the same standards a sales manager would apply in a coaching conversation.
To further extend learning beyond the experience, I developed two supporting resources: a Manager Coaching Debrief Guide that focuses post-simulation reflection on the behaviors that drive deal momentum, and an Executive Risk Translation Job Aid that helps sellers reframe technical capabilities into the operational and financial language executives actually respond to.
Result: A complete sales enablement learning system that develops judgment rather than memorization. Branching practice in the course builds the framework. Open conversation in the agent applies it under pressure. Reinforcement tools extend the experience into real customer conversations.
Enterprise WMS Adoption – Manhattan Active
Enterprise WMS | Change enablement | Systems transition
Challenge: A third-party logistics company was transitioning from Manhattan WMOS to Manhattan Active across dozens of sites. The Golden Template had been built entirely within IT, leaving sales, engineering, implementation teams, and warehouse sites without shared understanding of what the new platform enabled or what their role in the transition was. Confusion was high and rollout was at risk.
Approach: I designed a short-form Storyline primer that reframed the Golden Template as an operating model rather than a rulebook. The course introduced the business rationale for the switch, compared WMOS and Manhattan Active side by side, mapped A-B-C process flows based on complexity, and addressed each stakeholder group directly, including sales, engineering, implementation, and site operations, with a dedicated section on their specific role in the transition.
Status: Completed and ready for enterprise deployment at the time of a company-wide reduction in force. The course represents the design approach and stakeholder alignment strategy developed for the rollout.
Enterprise WMS Operations Enablement — RF Outbound and Exception Handling
Operational software training | Frontline enablement | Equipment-specific workflows
Challenge: Frontline warehouse employees at new distribution sites were being onboarded to Manhattan WMS with no prior system experience. Training relied on shadowing and informal knowledge transfer, which created inconsistency in execution and increased error rates in high-volume environments. Live training sessions were consuming significant time on foundational knowledge that could be addressed before employees ever hit the floor.
Approach: I designed a scenario-driven eLearning experience in Adobe Captivate focused on outbound RF execution that put learners inside real equipment-specific workflows rather than walking them through static click paths. The course covered outbound execution across multiple equipment types including Reach Trucks, Forklifts, Electric Pallet Jacks, and Each Picking stations, with correct task sequencing, equipment-specific decision points, and realistic system interactions built throughout. A mobile-accessible design ensured the training was usable in the environments where the work actually happens. The course was deployed as a prerequisite to live training during site go-lives, shifting foundational knowledge transfer out of the classroom so in-person time could focus entirely on hands-on practice.
Result: Live training sessions were shortened significantly, allowing more time for hands-on floor practice. Process audit scores at go-live sites improved by 25%.
